Shipping policy

Gild & Grain is a trading name of G IT Consulting (Pty) Ltd, registration number 2013/015920/07, of 5 Sycamore Street, Fairie Knowe, Cape Town, 7975, South Africa.

1. Where we ship

We are a leather studio based in Cape Town, South Africa, and we deliver throughout South Africa by courier. We do not currently ship outside South Africa.

2. Handling time

Every piece is made and packed by hand in our Cape Town studio. Orders are typically dispatched within 3–5 business days. Personalised and made-to-order items may take longer; we will confirm the timeline with you before you order.

3. Delivery options and costs

We offer one courier option, as well as free collection from our studio:

  • Standard courier, door to door: R100 per delivery.
  • Collection from our studio at 5 Sycamore Street, Fairie Knowe, Cape Town: free. Collection is available Monday to Friday, 09:00–17:00.

4. Tracking

Once your order has been dispatched we will email you a tracking number. From that point it is your responsibility to follow up on the parcel with the courier. Please give us a delivery address where someone can receive the parcel.

5. Failed deliveries and returns to sender

If a parcel is returned to us because it was not collected, or because the address or contact details you supplied were incorrect or incomplete, we may charge a further delivery fee before re-dispatching it.

6. Lost or damaged parcels

If a parcel is lost or damaged in transit, other than through your own negligence, we will replace it at no extra cost. Please report loss or damage to us in writing within 7 (seven) days of the expected delivery date, and keep the packaging and photographs of any damage.

7. Risk and ownership

Risk in the goods passes to you when they are delivered to your address. Ownership of the goods passes to you once we have received payment in full.

8. Pre-orders and made-to-order items

Where an item is listed as made-to-order or pre-order, the estimated dispatch time shown on the product page applies instead of clause 2.
